Tiara Thursday: Nine Provinces Tiara

A close up view of the Nine Provinces.  I couldn't figure out how to insert beads between each of the arches to make it the full version of the tiara.  Here's a link where you can read more about the tiara.

Wedding Wednesday: Fabiola of Belgium

As you know Queen Fabiola of Belgium is one of my favorite royals.  So I decided to create her wedding dress.

The dress and train are machine knitted.  The dress is one piece.  The "fur" on the dress is a hand knitted i-cord.  The veil is hand knitted and is topped with 2/3 of the Belgian Nine Provinces Tiara.

You can compare my version to the real thing here.

Yarns Used: Caron Simply Soft White

Tiara Thursday: Wolfers Tiara

On a burst of inspiration I created this tiara, one of Queen Fabiola's out of beads.

It is known as the Wolfers Necklace tiara.  To compare my version to the real thing check here and here

Queen Fabiola of the Belgians

My favorite Royal Couple, now belong to history.  The couple I am talking about is late King Baudouin of Belgium and late Queen Fabiola of Belgium.  Today I am sharing one of my favorite outfits of Queen Fabiola.  In 2009, the dear lady was threatened with assassination and so on the Belgian National Day she not only showed up but she held up in an apple in the fashion of the William Tell story.  You can find a view of the photos of that incident here.

This outfit comes from that National Day.  The top and pants are machine knitted, except for the collar which I crocheted instead of knitted.  The Hat and Jacket are hand knitted.

Yarns: Red Heart White and Red Heart Lavender
